About Zeb King

I am inspired by working with others to make Central Saanich an even better place.

I’ve lived in Central Saanich for over twenty years and I’m proud to call Central Saanich my home. My grandparents were instrumental in establishing the Central Saanich Senior Citizens’ Centre where I now proudly serve as a liaison for the District of Central Saanich Council. I was born in Victoria and attended Mt. Newton, Royal Oak and Claremont schools.

Zeb and Minjung KingI am married to the love of my life, Minjung Kwon, whom I met while teaching English in South Korea. Minjung is a highly skilled nurse in our community and incredible source of love, wisdom and support for me.

With my degree in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from UVic, I have the training to understand the place of local government while also understanding that local government has a long way to go to fully involved citizens in the process of collaboratively finding solutions. I strongly believe in the new approach to civics which involves “crowdsourcing” solutions rather than the traditional “gatekeeper” philosophy of staff and council’s pretending to have all the answers. I believe it is time to catch up with the changing society and make participation and civics fun again.

I have worked as a Senior Policy Analyst with the BC Ministry of Health on matters concerning Midwives, Pharmacists and other Allied Healthcare professionals.

I am dedicated to ensuring that we can afford to live in our community, to protecting our environment for future generations and to opening the doors of municipal hall so that we hear from you.
