I am inspired by working with others to make Central Saanich an even better place.
I’ve lived in Central Saanich for over twenty years. My grandparents were instrumental in establishing the Central Saanich Senior Citizens’ Centre. I was born in Victoria and attended Mt. Newton, Royal Oak and Claremont schools.
I am married to the love of my life, Minjung Kwon, whom I met while teaching English in South Korea. Minjung is a highly skilled nurse in our community and incredible source of love, wisdom and support for me.
I was elected to Central Saanich Council in November 2002 and again in 2005. With my six years of experience as a councillor I can hit the ground running and get right down to business.
With my degree in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from UVic, I have the training to understand the place of local government.
For the past four years I have worked as a Senior Policy Analyst with the BC Ministry of Health on matters concerning Midwives, Pharmacists and other Allied Healthcare professionals.
I am dedicated to ensuring we “pay as we go” so we can afford to live in our community, to protecting our environment for future generations and to opening the doors of municipal hall so that we hear from you. Our Saanich Peninsula Hospital is a critical institution and as a councillor I never hesitated to oppose cuts that threatened service.
I am a homeowner and a small-business operator who understands many of the challenges facing residents and I want to hear from you.
Let’s work together to make Central Saanich an even better place.
