I wonder if it is not a good time to change our narrative away from "affordable" and into "inclusive" housing? That is, what's affordable to one family is WAY out of reach for another. If we write and talk about each and every community, village, town, riding, etc., being inclusive, or accommodating those that live, work and school in those neighbourhoods - perhaps it would be easier for people to understand what planning is needed, what actions must be taken and what compromises must be made to create a respectful place for each of us - in every hood so to speak.
The speculation tax is a very important tool for taxing the wealthy and eventually creating more affordable housing. It is under very heavy pressure in Sidney and North Saanich so please be ready to defend it in public debates.
